About Us

Practice History.

We know our core strengths, stick to our guns and hone our services. Most importantly, we stay focused.

Founding partner, Peter Sheehan MVB established Avondale Veterinary in Corballis, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow in 1968. We expanded in 1998 to include our branch in Ferrybank, Arklow, Co Wicklow. The Arklow branch became a certified Veterinary Hospital in 2008. We meet the needs of pet owners in Wicklow, Carlow and Wexford.

Feel free to call into our branches anytime for either a friendly chat, pet food or worming treatment - we are here to help!

We are members of XLVets, which we joined in 2010, a group of progressive veterinary practices throughout Ireland working together, sharing experience, knowledge and skills so that they can strive to deliver excellence to both small and large animal clients.

Our Facilities.

Our hospital is equipped with modern facilities and we are dedicated to looking after your family pets whether they are small or large.

We invest in the latest equipment to provide the best possible patient care such as ultrasound, digital x-rays and blood machines. Check out our services page for a comprehensive listing of the procedures we carry out. We have ample car parking facilities in both branches so your pet will be just a few steps away from the front door. We use an appointment service to ensure smooth process for both you and your pet as possible. We know how busy daily life can be and we try to accommodate our customers with a schedule that they suits them as much as possible.

Our team here in Avondale are all pet owners and know just how worrying it can be when they are unwell. All our patients are treated with love and kindness as we all know how terrifying it can be for them when visiting us. We will provide your pet the best care that they deserve, in sickness and in health, with the attention from our experienced staff.
